What is Pupil Premium?
Pupil premium is funding to improve education outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in schools in England. Evidence shows that disadvantaged children generally face additional challenges in reaching their potential at school and often do not perform as well as other pupils.
How do schools use the Pupil Premium Grant?
Each school is allocated £1345 for every pupil premium child they have on roll in their school. Schools can use the grant as they feel appropriate in to support pupil premium pupils in their school. Schools are suggested to use the grant to support in teaching, supporting pupils academically and non-academically. All schools must be transparent about their use of the grant and publish their strategy of how they will use it annually.
